Welcome to the Rockhampton Water Polo website. Our organisation offers water polo fun for the whole family through our Primary Water Polo, Secondary Schools, and Adult competitions. We always welcome new players; no experience is needed to play as our organisation provides opportunities for you to learn the game. We regularly send teams away to competitions around Queensland, catering for those who have advanced skills. Volunteers and referees are also always needed and welcomed!
We support Primary Water Polo programs at both the Northside and Southside Pools, which occur on Thursday nights. Primary Water Polo allows primary school aged children the chance to play a modified version of water polo, primarily within the shallow end of the pool.
Our secondary schools competition runs on Monday nights at the Rockhampton Grammar School pool (Archer St) during Terms 1 and 4. If you are interested in playing and your school does not have a team, please contact Rockhampton Water Polo as we can help you join an existing school team.
Our open competition allows adults of all ability levels and more advanced secondary school players to compete in a fun, social environment. It is run on Thursday nights between October and April and is located at the Northside Pool (330-360 Berserker St). For the 2021-22 season, social water polo will run from 5:30-6:30pm every Thursday night, starting October 12. Players are organised into 5 a side teams. You can bring your own team (e.g., corporate, social group) or can join in with one of Rockhampton Water Polo's teams. New members are always welcome to join throughout the season.
